Farro

Farro is a food product consisting of the grains of certain wheat species in whole form.  It was first cultivated in the Middle East. Today, it can only be found in many areas of mountainous Europe and Italy. Farro has many varieties and remains to be a favorite by mostly Italians. In fact, in Italy, they call different types of wheat such as emmer, spelt and einkorn as farro medio, farro grande, and farro piccolo, respectively.
