Quinoa, pronounced keen-wah, is known as the sacred mother grain to the Incas due to its ancient capabilities in sustaining the Incan army. Grown in the Andes mountains since 3000 B.C., Quinoa was recently rediscovered as a protein-rich superfood that is gluten-free as well.
