King Crab

Widely available in most grocery stores, king crabs are one of any 121 species of crab. Sometimes known as stone crabs, king crabs are a superfamily of crab-like crustaceans that inhabit cold seas. The crabs are highly valued for their meat, which is snow white in color with a reddish membrane that locks in moisture.  The Red Alaskan King Crab is the most commercially sought-after, but the Blue and Golden Alaskan King Crabs are popular as well. The little-known Scarlet King Crab, another Alaskan variety, is not fished commercially due in large part to its comparatively small stature. ..
