Cloves

Cloves are the aromatic dried flower buds of a tree native to the Moluccas, formerly known as the Spice Islands of Indonesia. Cloves are harvested primarily in Indonesia, India, Madagascar, Zanzibar, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. They have been consumed in Asia for more than 2,000 years. Cloves can be used in cooking either whole or in a ground form, but as they are extremely strong, they are used sparingly.
