Onion seeds

The well-known “Onion seeds” used for cooking are not really the seeds of the onion bulb but the seeds of the plant Nigella Sativa, which is native to south and southwest Asia. The fruit of the Nigella Sativa is a large and inflated capsule composed of three to seven united follicles, each containing numerous seeds.  The Nigella seed has been known for its curative properties since ancient times.
