Pink peppercorns

Pink peppercorn refers to spice made from dried berries of the shrub Schinus molle, also known as American pepper, Peruvian peppertree, Californian pepper tree,  pepper tree, and peppercorn tree, a small, bushy evergreen tree with compound leaves and shiny red berries. The berries have a brittle, papery pink skin enclosing a hard, irregular seed. It is native to the Peruvian Andes but has become naturalized in most tropical and subtropical parts of the world.
