Sea beans

Sea beans are referred to by many names including glasswort, pickleweed, sea asparagus, sea pickles, and drift seeds. Sea beans are fruits and seeds of fruits that drift from rivers and streams into the ocean, and eventually wash ashore. Although they are not technically beans, the fruits and seeds gathered from the shore are known collectively as “sea beans.” Sea beans grow in the form of short, vivid green stalks that may have spherical-shaped, spike-like buds on the ends.
